KHSEM Membership Terms of Service (Summary)

Article 1 (Purpose)
These terms and conditions define the rights, obligations, and responsibilities between KHSEM (“the Platform”) and its members regarding the use of services provided by the Platform.

Article 2 (Membership Registration and Qualification)
Members acquire the right to use the service by agreeing to these terms and completing the registration process.
Users under the age of 14 require the consent of a legal guardian.
At registration, the Platform collects only the minimum necessary information such as real name (or pseudonym), email, country, affiliation (for institutional members), and password.
Unnecessary personal information (e.g., date of birth) is not collected.

Article 3 (Provision and Modification of Services)
The Platform provides global haiku creation, translation, and sharing services.
The content and system of the service may be changed with prior notice.

Article 4 (Member Obligations)
Members must comply with platform policies and relevant laws, and must not infringe upon the rights of others.
Account information must be managed by the member and must not be shared, transferred, or lent to others.

Article 4-1 (Policy on the Use of Official English Name and Disadvantage Notice)

For official activities such as global evaluations, international competitions, and qualification/career certifications, you must enter your real name in English as shown on your passport (official English name).

It is mandatory to use your passport’s official English name when registering and in your public profile.
Failure to comply or discrepancies between your profile name and your actual passport may result in disqualification, revocation of awards, denial of certification, or other disadvantages.

The Platform may, if necessary, request a copy of your passport or other official identification.
If any false or inaccurate information is confirmed, your membership may be restricted or revoked.

Article 5 (Personal Information Protection and Modification Policy)
The Platform complies with relevant privacy laws such as the Personal Information Protection Act and GDPR.
Members may access their personal information at any time.
Some information (such as self-introduction, affiliation, and password) can be modified after logging in.
Changes to key information (such as name, email, and contact information) require separate email verification or administrator approval.
Personal information (account deletion) will be deleted immediately upon request, or safely handled after being retained for a certain period in accordance with relevant laws.
(If specified by law, certain information may be kept for the required retention period.)

Article 6 (Intellectual Property Rights and Use of Content)
Members retain the copyright to haiku works and other content they register.
The Platform may, for operational purposes and on a non-profit basis, publish content with author attribution.

Article 7 (Disclaimer and Dispute Resolution)
The Platform is not liable for service interruptions caused by force majeure or reasons attributable to members.
Disputes arising from the use of the service shall be resolved in accordance with the laws of the Republic of Korea, local laws, and international practices.

Supplementary Provisions
These terms and conditions shall take effect from June 8, 2024.
Privacy Policy
Consent to Collection and Use of Personal Data (Summary)

Collected items: Name (or nickname), email, country, organization (if applicable), and password.
Unnecessary data such as date of birth will not be collected.

Purpose: Registration, identity verification, service provision/management, notifications, etc.

Retention: Deleted immediately upon withdrawal. Some information may be retained for a certain period as required by law.

Modification/Deletion: Some information (profile, affiliation) can be directly modified after login. Key information (name, email, contact) requires additional verification such as email authentication.
Personal data deletion (withdrawal) is processed immediately or securely after a legal retention period.
